Valhalla Island

Here’s something different for a change (pun!). I have a piggy bank that I put my spare change into, when I have a spendable amount, I spend it. Anyone that collects change will know it feels like free money, you never save it, you just blow it on whatever. This time I’ve saved AUD$28.60, not a huge amount but enough to safely let you, the reader, decide what I do with it.

Just use the poll at the top of the sidebar. I’ve chosen things that I will be able to document my experience with and blog about. The scratchits for example, I’ll document how many and of what type I bought and my winnings on each one. Note that saving the money is not an option. Also, whatever is chosen through the poll will definitely be what’s purchased.

Here’s a little information on each of the options.

A Bottle of Spirits. The obvious choice is tequila but I may get vodka, it’ll be a white spirit either way. It will probably involve me adding a little money too, but that’s ok, I’ll get it. I’ll have a few friends around and we’ll shot the whole bottle in an hour and I’ll tell you what happens.

A Daring Fireball T-Shirt. The new t-shirt at DF is amazing. This option is double pronged, with a t-shirt comes a year of Daring Fireball membership, something I’ve wanted for a very long time. Choose this one and I’ll be looking good while staying informed.

A Full Bleed T-Shirt. Full Bleed have been making brilliant t-shirts for years. If you choose this option the hardest part will be choosing which shirt. Leave suggestions in the comments if you would like.

Fugitive Toys. Some beautiful, pop culture themed toys to adorn my office. This will include a selection of smaller toys or one bigger one. Again, suggestions as to exactly which is appreciated. If I go for the selection of smaller toys, this one will no doubt be included.

Scratchits. Perhaps the most interesting of all the options. Scratchits have the potential to win a lot more than the $28.60 I’ll be spending. If this option is chosen the breakdown will be 2 $5 crosswords, 5 $2 scratchits and 6 $1s. If you disagree with this choice of breakdown, recommend a better plan. I’ll publish the results and photos of every scratchit. The gambler in me says this is the best option.

That’s it. Get voting. I suppose I better give it a time limit. Let’s say this time next week, that’s next Sunday, the 13th of May at 2pm local time. If you have a brilliant suggestion for something that should be on the list, let me know and if it’s really really good, I’ll add it but the chances are slim.
